About Us Highlands
Behavioral Health System is part of the
Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) family of
hospitals. UHS is one of the nation's largest and most
respected health care management companies operating
acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, and
ambulatory centers nationwide. Founded in 1978 by Alan
B. Miller, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, the
company now employs more than 38,000 people and is
publicly traded.
Highlands Behavioral Health System
is an 86 bed freestanding behavioral health hospital
offering psychiatric care for adults and adolescents.
Centrally located in Littleton, near downtown Denver,
the facility is easily accessible to families throughout
the Front Range and just minutes from surrounding
communities. The facility is open for admission 7 days
per week, 24 hours per day. Assessments are provided
free of charge. Walk-ins are welcome, however scheduled
appointments and assessments are preferred.
Our clinical services are delivered
by qualified mental health professionals and each
patient is given a no-cost comprehensive evaluation as
part of the admission process. Once a patient is
admitted to Highlands Behavioral Health System, an
interdisciplinary team creates an individualized
treatment program that includes acute care treatment,
solution-focused treatment, and comprehensive discharge
planning.
