Holiday Visiting Information

Highlands Behavioral Health System recognizes the benefits of family involvement in treatment of individuals and recognizes the importance of family during the holiday season. Highlands' Treatment Team discussed this and planned the following changes to visitation:

Holiday Visitation times will occur as follows:

Thanksgiving: Thursday, 11/24/11
Christmas Eve: Saturday, 12/24/11
Christmas Day: Sunday, 12/25/11
New Years Day: Sunday, 01/01/12

Adult Unit II - 9:45am to 11:45am
Adolescent Unit - 12:15pm to 2:15pm
Adult Unit I - 2:30pm - 4:30pm

Extending visitation hours allows family and friends more flexibility and time to spend with loved ones on holidays. Please note: normal visitation rules do apply. There may only be two visitors allowed to visit at a time, however visitors may switch out so that more people have the opportunity to visit. For safety reasons, no child age 12 or under will be allowed to visit. As always, no food or drink may be brought into the hospital. As nice as it is to bring gifts to open with your loved ones, it is with regret that we must deny any gifts for patients. It is not feasibly possible for staff to monitor every patient while opening gifts with their family and friends. A nice holiday card is acceptable, but again, it must be opened in front of staff. Please understand these rules are not meant to hinder your visit with your loved ones but rather to ensure the safety of all our patients and visitors.

Juice and Snacks will be provided for your enjoyment during Holiday Visitation. Happy Holidays from Highlands Behavioral Health System and all the Staff!

We hope the following information will be helpful to you. We have established these guidelines to protect the health, safety and well being of everyone in our facility.

• All visitors must read the confidentiality statement and sign the agreement.
• All visitors must obtain and wear a yellow visitor badge each time they visit

Visitation Hours

• Patients are allowed two (2) visitors at a time.
• No one under the age of thirteen (13) is allowed to visit. Please do not leave your children unattended.
• Cell phones, purses, briefcases cannot be brought on the unit and should be left in the visitors' car.
• No food or drink is to be brought to the unit.
• Highlands Behavioral Health System reserves the right to check identification of anyone visiting or arriving to pick up a patient at discharge.
